  I had attended this church as a child, so when the opportunity came up to rent a house from the church, we took it. We were never behind with the rent, and took care of the place. We became active in the church, and my daughter and I both worked for the church. Since the house belonged to the church, we also performed some repairs and upkeep on the house and yard, above and beyond routine maintenance, ourselves. We also participated in fundraising activities for the church.
  
  After a couple years, to raise more funds, they discussed selling the house out from under us! We attended these meetings, and at first, they would not even refer to us by name, referring to us, in our presence, as simply “the renters.” We pleaded with them to not sell the house, citing our involvement with the church, and the hardships it would cause us, but they chose to sell it anyway. Our involvement, payment record, etc. meant nothing.
  
  Following their decision, we were treated rudely, and as nothing but a burden to be disposed of. Scolding, belittling, and put-downs from certain higher-ups in the congregation became common. An individual who heard about our situation referred to what they were doing to us as bullying. One of the church officials even told me to my face, “We just want the money.”
  
  When they told us the house had been sold (a lie - the interested party backed out), they gave us a notice to get out. After a long and stressful search, we left - and left the church for good.

  Went to school here as a child, still attend church there to this day.
